Per her official Facebook page, it’s been over 75 days since Ronda Baldwin-Kennedy, candidate for California’s 26th Congressional District, has challenged incumbent U.S. Rep. Julia Brownley (D-Thousand Oaks) to a debate.
As a constituent in a somewhat competitive district where onethird of the district’s voters either have no party preference or belong to a third party, we deserve to hear the positions of both candidates in a moderated debate. Brownley claims on her social media page that she’s a champion for Black voices and for women, yet she acts as if her challenger, a Black woman, is not even worthy of an answer. This seems rather contradictory, in my opinion.
I’m sorry, Rep. Brownley, but I have to call you out in a newspaper in your district and insist that you accept her invitation. Alan Garner Camarillo
